I still remember how Andrew gushed about Meng Kee char siew when he first had it some years back.

Twice I went looking for it, and came back disappointed. I didn’t know they’ve moved. If only I have taken a bit of time to google. I finally found my way there recently. It is now located in a coffee shop towards the end of Jalan Alor.

The char siew is fatty and succulent; with charred, sweet and slightly sticky glaze. The fat kind of melts in your mouth.

It is definitely above average. And I just love the charred bits and ends.

I heard the char siew was even better when they were still at Tengkat Tong Shin. Can’t say for sure since it’s only my first time here. For now, all I know is it will not be my last.
