• Short trip to Tokyo

Tokyo was quite a last-minute trip. No fixed schedule and no firm itinerary. I’ve got to travel like that more often, I had almost forgotten how much fun it is just to wander around.

Here is one of my favorite photos, taken at Shitaya Shinto shrine in Ueno.

A short walking distance away is Sensō-ji. It was a weekend, so pretty crowded here.

I was staying in Taito the first day. As luck would have it, Kappabashi (Kitchen Town) is just a few minutes’ walk away from the hotel. I spent a good part of the day here, going from one shop to another, feeling like a kid in a candy store. The shops cater mainly to the restaurant trade, selling everything from kitchen utensils & appliances, knives, crockery, restaurant furniture and even plastic display food.

    Dinner at Ginza

While strolling along Ginza, we passed by a restaurant serving horse meat. It was just after dinner and I wasn’t feeling very adventurous, so we gave it a miss.

I’ll be back with more photos from Tsukiji market. Check back soon, ok.
