One of the most refreshing mango lassi I had was in a little café in Cameron Highlands many years back. I’m not sure if this café is still there, but whenever I’ve mango lassi, it’ll bring back fond memories of our weekend getaway.

Closer to home, I’m glad to have found a pretty good mango lassi at Vishalatchi. And I like their soft, fluffy idli with spice-laden dal and chutney.

Vishalatchi specializes in Chettinad cuisine – one of the spiciest and most aromatic of Indian cuisine, with their liberal use of spices. If you like strong flavors and spicy food, it is worth checking out this makan place in Brickfields. And I must mention they serve a mean banana leaf rice too.
